Has anyone bought frozen feeders at a show to stock up & save on the ridiculous shipping charge?
Is this a good idea, or only in theory?
I was considering checking out the frozen rat vendors at the NH show this Sat.

It's usually a good idea. Most vendors with frozen have them bagged in clear ziplocks so you can easily check the overall quality/look of the rodents in person. Stay away from obviously freezer burned items or items that look dirty. Also, make sure to have a cooler of ice or dry ice in the car to pack the rodents in for the trip home.

What does a freezer burned rat look like?
Are the crappy ones pretty obvious? I've never even seen a frozen animal b4, except in a snowbank. lol
dirty isn't always bad.....at times the guy freezing hundreds of rodents is in a hurry and has no time to keep them clean...or has too many live and they get dirty .........they can get dirty in a day if you overcrowd....yet still be in good health.......they may smell too......it all washes off when you soak them in hot water to thaw....
YES dirty is a bad thing.......
smell them.....they should smell like a rat at least and not a freezer too bad (they will due to being frozen to a point).....THEY SHOULD NOT SMELL ROTTEN AT ALL.........!!!
.....most dealers are cool.......I had one bad one.......
.......and yes remember the cooler and ice........just freeze a few bottles of water (refill used bottles).......

I will look for you. What other goodies you bringing?
We normally bring some things just for show to NH bc its close and we normally dont have much to sell at this time... lol .. We have a few Balls mostly poss hets hets or normals, i think we have a few pastels left and some Sables, but not much left from 06. This season we should have a ton of stuff available, the October show in NH should be good
See you there ...
Kim
I'm considering going to the Oct Show instead of the one this weekend.
I also heard the show in NY on the 22nd is going to be better than the NH one this weekend.
Decisions, decisions.
Both shows are good... all depends on how you look at it i guess, NY has more vendors i think, but NH is a very good show speacking from a vendor stand point. They are both ran by the same man, bruce and he does a great job at both. We go to both so i will see you at either or.

It looks like I have to go to NY now, to pick up a snake I bought today.
shipping prices are actually not so bad at all?
rodentpro has great options for optimizing when ordering in bulk. One or two orders for me, with shipping, are a far better deal than most and last quite a while.
