nothing bad. I have used the stuff and like it a lot. It does mention to not use around/after shed. Also do not use more than every three days, I think.
I also remove the water dish, just so the snakes dont crawl through it, getting the spray off and at the same time contaminating the water. I put it back the next day.

It's pretty nontoxic stuff. It's not even actually a poison-but a solvent that dissolves chitin (the outer integument of all arthropods, mites included). As such, it must come into direct physical contact with the mite to be effective. While safer than poisons, it does take more persistence on the keeper's part and several applications over a three week period may be required.

I've had good and very quick results with Provent-a-mite, but you MUST read and follow label directions TO THE LETTER!

Provent-a-mite has worked for me but like the other guy said follow directions to the letter.

I use it in adition to provent a mite and so far I have used it a few times, mostly with new snakes and one aplication of both is all it took. I am extreamly happy with both products. They are the best thing sence Zoomeds Mite off witch from what I understand the FDA took off the shelves. I still have a bottle of Mite Off and it is very potent.
