It's been a while

I have not contributed anything here in a while so thought I would post some pics. First litter of the year was disappointing, just a glob of slugs and severe premis.

April fools day turned out to be a better day.

This was my largest litter to date with 38 babies, including 28 that were hypos. I frequently get some strange patterns which usually include some partial striping. They look cool but I never put much stock in them as the hypo gene seems to carry a pattern aberrancy with it. This litter was no different and had a baby with a short reverse stripe on its tail. What was different in this litter is that I also got a normal baby with a reverse stripe on its tail. I thought this was odd as I have never gotten an aberrancy on a baby that did not also have the hypo gene.

Sorry to hear about the first litter of the year, but glad to see you bounced back with your biggest litter to date! So, are you going to keep back the reverse striped normal to see if there's something to it? I think I would atleast hold back a reverse stripe hypo just in case! Congrats on a nice looking litter, take care

"So, are you going to keep back the reverse striped normal to see if there's something to it? "

Like I said, I never gave them a second thought before, but since it popped up in a normal, it does suggest that there is a higher likelihood that it is genetic. No room right now in the garage, but I may need to make room and buy some more cages. Damn!
