Mojave color with age

goldeagle Apr 04, 2007 07:03 AM

Hello,
On some of the photos I see of Mojaves, they lack the beautiful yellow marking and they look tan instead. As they age, do Mojave's lose their yellow?

The top pic is a baby Mojave, that looks pretty good, nice yellow. The second and third pic show a Sulfur Mojave and a normal Mojave, for comparison. The yellow look pretty similar, but the body color is almost maroon in the Sulfur Mojave. The bottom two pics are yearlings.
