Not terribly good pictures but this is Kiros.

We're at 13 inches now give or take a bit due to the difficulty of getting him to sit still. He's healthy, growing and eating quite voraciously. Always hungry as he should be. The photos were taken outside of his enclosure..if I didn't he'd have disappeared back down his burrow *L*

Yes he is *chuckles* He eats very well too... Once his growth starts levelling off I'll slow on the feedings...Figure for now he's using that energy for growth so I give him as much as he'll eat... Finally did manage to get some insects back into his diet though thats only an occasional thing to give him excercise.. He does like to chase crickets. Will take superworms once in a while... though he's mostly on a rodent diet.. 3 or 4 day old rat pups now. I'm starting his permanent enclosure after we move again...since we'll be staying with people, he'll be a little cramped for a week or 2 in a 55 gallon aquarium...but his 5x4x2 enclosure needs to be put in storage for that time. Until we can find a house... Hate to do it to him but its a necessity if I want to be able to keep him and I do....I've definately caught the Monitor bug.

My 16 month old blackthroat "Sweetpea" has grown 4" in about 8 weeks at her age! They shouldn't do that at that ageShe eats 1-2 rats every other day.About 4-6 rats a week=$5.I let her roam 1-2 hours daily outside her cage and she swims the tub an hour a day alsoI let my babies eat daily the first year.

*chuckles* Thanks for the heads up.... I figured it would be between 8 months and a year before his growth slowed down. I have a friend who owns two Sav's and his oldest is just over a year now... Mine (Kiros)eats like a little demon...I let him take as much as he'll eat.. I breed my own rats and gerbils, mealies and superworms so I don't have to worry about spending the money out on buying food for him. I just had to up my rat production by adding a few more females in *L*
