red sided skinks

any info on these guys would be great.
are they the same as fire skinks?
a friend is getting some and i figured ide grab a trio and see how they go. i never bred skinks b4 but ive housed a few for a short period of time , i just know general stuff like food and temperature and how to setup there tank just to keep them alive .
any breeding info or info on were these guys origonate from or how much they go for nowdays in the pet trade would work .
any info is appreciated

Hi Ryan,
They are appearing on our wholesale lists, so I expect these are Mabuya perrotetii - aka red-sided skinks. As far as prices - the mabuya skinks sell for as little as $2.50 to the pet stores in lots.

No, they are not the same as fire skinks (Riopia fernandi).

There isn't too much out there - they are really easy to keep.

Our red-sided was a rescue (the folks bought him and resturned him to the store. Too flighty, I guess. He eats his bugs from my hand now....
