I have a female that has not eaten since sept 27.. She just ovulated. I also have a 700 gram male that just started eating again but he went for 3 months..

I have a female that has not eaten since sept 27, she just ovulated, but I had a male around 700grams that went for about 3 months, I did not breed him at all.

I have a 05 male that just started to eat again after a fasting spell of 8 months he had never mist a meal before not even wile in blue , so you can imagine my concern when he stopped eating and when he staid off food for so long , He was 2100 gr. When he stopped eating and 1658 gr. When he started eating again . Even when you know that this in normal for a adult Ball and that it is in know real danger as long as there are no other signs of illness and it is still drinking it will drive you nuts -am I right? So keep the faith and be paishint , offer food every week or every other week and when you least expect it bam it happens and you jump for joy because it eat. Thanks David of DS Reptile Rescue

I've got a male who is about 16 years old. He's been off feed since the end of Sept. or early Oct. He started shedding tonight. I expect he'll be ravenous in a couple days . I know it's erve wracking, especially if you're new to these guys. He'll start up again soon.

I can relate. Mine is about the same age as yours, and she hasn't eaten since Jan. 30. So, two months and counting. My blood python was eating fine until early March. Now she's not eating either.

I don't know how people who spend thousands, or much more than that, on their snakes can stand this...

It will be great to see them turn back on again. Hopefully soon!

Keep the faith.

I have a ball that has been off feed since late August. I keep trying but he just doesn't seem interested. He looks a little thin but still in great condition.

You kind of have to look at like this: at least you are saving time and money by not having to feed him and if you aren't feeding him you don't have to spend a lot of time cleaning up snake poop!

But yeah - it's normal - they can easily go a year or more off feed - when he is ready he'll start feeding again. The sooner you just accept it as the circle of life (or whatever expression you prefer) the easier it becomes. That is until you have a bunch of subadult females that stay off feed until mid June you need to get up to breeding weight and you have 4 months to put 600 grams on them.
