I got mine from Brian at B.H.B. Enterprises a while back. When I talked to him he said that the original "Ghost" cal king was a wild-caught from Palomar, CA.....since then it has been proven to be a simple recessive gene. I also know that Brian bred his Ghost cal kings (Palomar) to other cal kings (albinos, hypo, etc...). So they really aren't "locale specific" anymore.
