My babygirl laid eggs!!

Mystress Apr 05, 2007 02:50 AM

What now?! This is the first time I try and breed eggs....The first egg came out wrinkly and had nothing in it. But the second one is super HUGE. My first instinct after reading so many websites was to get a plastic container, get soil from my yard (I live in miami, humidity is prime here) and mist it. I laid the egg on it and made a small mark on the top of the egg to distinguish it, so the baby wouldn't drown.

What do I do now?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Mystress.

you shouldnt rely on a forum to know what to do with this. either google it NOW, you should have done that FIRST. you cant wait about to hear back from a forum, you need to take action fast. i myself dont know what to do, i've read somewhere but time is of the essence. HURRY!!!

Yes you should hav read about what to do before she laid the eggs. You should have done all your research before jumping into something that you have no clue about.

You need an incubator to incubate the eggs. You need to have it at the specified temps, and humidty needs to be about 85% at least. Actually i have not used soil at all as a incubation medium, i have used vermucilite and some have used sand and soil mixes and some use hatchrite!

Ok as they said you should have read up on this beforhand. From what you described those eggs are probably no good. Especially if they are in a container with dirt... Go to a feed store that sells chicken feed and such. They should have a hovabator incubator. It should be around 40 bucks. If not lllreptile.com has one. Go to Lowes and pick up some perlite. http://www.albeysreptiles.com/incubate-eggs.htm Thats a link on how to mix the water/perlite ratio. You will also need a good thermometer to regulate temps. KEEP IN MIND, YOU WILL GET ANOTHER CLUTCH IN 2-5 weeks. BE more prepared this time.
