DNA/GROUPS/Evolution?

KnoldgReignSuprm Apr 05, 2007 07:53 AM

I posted this to another thread but it's a little far down the line- so noone misses it- Here is a chart I found online showing the "evolution"/DNA family tree of Uromastyx. I don't know for sure where it came from but probably Thomas Wilms' Uromastyx Natural History

I DON'T GET IT(the joke that is)
maliensis is in dispar w/ flavofasciata and dispar dispar

Oh....I'd never heard that before, not trying to be difficult but wouldn't that statement mean that mali's aren't their own sub-species?

they just didn't list any subspecies is how i take it.
they didn't list microlepis or the 2 new subspecies of yemenensis(prev. benti) maliensis is a sub-species of dispar species. microlepis subspecies of aegyptia.bla bla
they are showing the species in their groups
such as aegyptia group
i forget the rest of the names -they are grouped as "related" species. i got it off a site that is in german or dutch. i no speaky!
