Hi im new to chameleons but not new to reptiles, I ahve been keeping monitors, geckos, anoles, tree frog, etc for 11 years. My next animals I wish to get is a chameleon would be ok to house a yemens in a 36 x 24 x15 and keep it happy. The enclosure would have a waterfall lotso f live plants some dead branches a dripping system and enlarged ventellation panels.

I would go with all screen cage or almost all screen. I went with glass with extra venting and it just isn't enough. Having issues with mold and possibly other things cage related. If you live in a really dry area see if you can find someone to make you a near all screen cage. The one i just ordered has a solid back bottom and half way up both sides to help keep in some of the humidity. Also will be using two foggers and auto mister and a drip system as well as several live plants to keep the humidity up.

Could I use a dak wooden vivarium with screen doors and extra ventelation. My main concern is also about size

that would probably work. The cage i have ordered for my Jackson is 30w x 20d x 50h, can never get to big. If the front doors are screen and the top is screen id imagine that would provide decent air flow. But... as much screen as you can would be best. Be careful as to the type of screen to i have seen many people say on here that certain screens are ruff on chams claws.

Thanks for all your help with the added ventalation panels and screen front. He will be kept with lots of live plants for ocver and a dead branch and vines for climbing on. A drip system and a waterfall as well as hand spraying to keep humidty up. Thanks for your help

hey
i suggest you don't use the water fall..they look really cool in the cage and everything, but normally cause more problems then they help you..chams. normally will go to the bathroom in the waterfalls and then bacteria could then start to grow in the waterfall and if that happens,it would be dangerous for the cham to drink from it..he would get sick..i don't know what it is,chams just like pooping in water..haha..i would like to know more about the foggers and what you need to do with those and how they work..its rare for the waterfalls to be a really good thing for chams,it has happened though..they do look really cool, but are very time consuming(with chameleons)..always have to make sure they are 100% clean.
