31 mottled rubidus eggs..

epidemic Apr 05, 2007 08:44 AM

My second mottled female D. m rubidus began oviposition yesterday and dropped 16 eggs. This is my most anticipated clutch, as the sire is the WC mottled male from the Gladys Porter Zoo. With a little luck and blessings from above, we'll see what comes of these pairings in 100-120 days...

Best regards,

Jeff

Jeff, you will have too many hatchlings to care for this year. I would suggest sending about half to Kansas.

I could always make room for a mottled rubidus or two. You could always send some to California!

Congratulations, Jeff. That is some good news. Just looking at that pic, those supralabial scales look like dinner plates. As our 'favorite' car salesman up here says, "its HUGE!"

I have no words! That is amazing.

It's too bad you're keeping all of them!

Seriously, I wish you the best and hope you are overrun with the little beauties.

Well done, sir!

well done jeff! you've singled-handedly resurrected a 'lost' sub. i think those mottled's are cool......but not in unicolors. :>]

How many pretty yellow babies are you expecting?

dan felice Apr 07, 2007 10:37 AM

funny you should ask mike, she just turned a nice shade of pre-lay blue 2 days ago. this is her 1rst go round so i'd think 8 or 10 eggs. she doesn't appear much bigger than that. my more mature females could lay twice that but they always started out right about at that number also. eggs should be here by month's end w/ hatchlings appearing sometime in early august i'd imagine.....then the 'fun & games' begin in earnest. :>/
