Released Biscuit yesterday

Some of you may remember me from a few weeks ago. I found a common snapper hatchling in a dog park, scared and dehydrated. I brought him home and got him back in good shape.

Well, after 2-3 weeks in my care, getting fat and sassy, he started acting like he was really ready to GO! So yesterday we took him back to the same lake where we found him, only a little ways away in a quieter area of the lake. There were lots of little creeks coming up off the lake into a small park, so we found him some shallow water with lots of plants and hiding spots, and let him go.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and help you gave me. I kinda wanted to keep him, but I knew in my heart he would be happier wild. I feel really good knowing that if anything else, he was left in a far better place and situation then he was found in. Here's hoping the little fella does well!

You got to enjoy him for a while and learn a bit and he got a much better chance at succeeding than he had when you found him. Good for both sides!
