Argentine Boa Constrictors

Goesr74 Apr 05, 2007 12:31 PM

Hey all! I'm trying to start breeding argentine boas in my basement. I have a snake that I bought from a guy, he told me it was Het for albino (or what I have come to realize is the T1 gene). How do I tell for sure if it is actually het for albino? The guy I bought it from said that he bought it from "Mac" (who is a breeder) at the Tinely Park,IL Reptile show in 2004.
Thanks!!

Ryan

RE: How do I tell for sure if it is actually het for albino?

If checking for T albino, breed to an actual T albino, or one that has been PROVEN (by breeding)to be an true het for T albino

OR

If checking for common albino, breed to an actual common albino, or one that has been PROVEN (by breeding)to be an true het common albino

Breeding is the only way to prove out hets.
