I just got a new chameleon and its only 3 months old and i was just wondering if it should turn colors like black i never seen one black before so i was just wondering if it should be black like that or not and its only black when its at the top of the tank hangen up side down and the color of the top is black also but whne its on the plants near the top its also black too plz contact me soon thanks and i was wondering if i should have a fresh air mesh cage it came from a fresh air cage and now i have it in a 29 gallon fish tank should i get it a fresh air or would this be good enought for it.

Chameleons will turn dark colors when they are cold and trying to warm up.

Can he see his reflection somewhere when he is turning black? Can he see something that might be upsetting him when he turns black?

No it cant see its reflection at all cuz i got some back ground in it so that he couolnt so idk whta it is then ????

What is the temperature in the basking area?
