AHH...A STINKY MUD PUDDELLE...

love that pic...anyone wonder why I'm so interested in S O I L?
hmmm...oh my...look at the ground...what's that?...under the dhub...hard to say...looks a little like,... S O I L!
dee dee dee!!!
hello!!!
I was looking at pics of nature, not caresheets for the invention of soil. I used soil for a while until I made the correlation of all the pics overseas with soil terrariums and all the overseas pics with stubby tails. Then I started noticing lovely pics advertising uros with the tips of the tails artistically out of the picture. That soil in that wild pic is far from wet and the moist part is deep down and far from wet as well. Just my 50CENT. peace,my dude.

Your observations are very interesting with the tail tips. How many pictures have you looked at? Also Proexotics has been using a soil setup for about 4 years now, and all of its uros have tail tips
. Its been FOUR years and no problems. When you were at the websites, where those photos were taken, did you knotice a e-mail account listed? If so, I would advice taking those photographers out on this subject, and ask them. Also in the wild, male to male interactions occur, so I would imagine that lost tail tips occur frequently! Being the way that photographers are, they didn't want to show a "wounded" animal so they skillfully took the pict with the tail tip not shown.

Also...Just because PRO(fessional)EXOTICS has success doesn't make it FOOL proof.Keyword comes before "proof". It doesn't mean they wouldn't be successful- but if they mess it up-who knows? I am determined to provide the BEST I CAN!that's all. I would love to make this work. That's my mission for now.
A million and one thanks,comrade!
First off you have me a little lost in what your trying to get across
.
I looked into pitcher's mound clay, also know as "beam clay." I had a few samples sent to me and its TERRIBLE! I used to play baseball, and believe me its not intended for uro use. The idea wasn't bad, but it turned out bad.
I seem to be giving PE alot of credit. I'm glad to do so! I think they are one of the top breeders in the world. You may ask me why? They think outside of the box! They went beyond the sapposally "up-to date" literature on reptiles and went with their gut. What happened? They are succesful in all aspects of breeding and husbandry with monitors, gilas, uros...shall I keep going? About two years ago I read their whole section on their uro fact....it took me awile. I was amazed with the results in just a few months of research with them. When I first got into uros, I did my research and started with sand. Prior to finding the PE website, I had the idea of soil in my head (I try to keep myself as an outside of the box thinker), but I was leery to try it because no one had done so. That was my mistake, I should tryed it anyway because thats the only way this hobby is going to grow and gain better understanding of the reptle's needs. However, I stumbled upon PE and it was like a rocket filled with my same thoughts hit me square in the face, the only differance was they actually put it to the test. So what did I do, I put it to the test myself. I wouldn't be here going on a rambled if I hadn't
.
I sort of got the impression that your making false accustions for PE. They have had MANY successes and they still are having success. I'm sure they have had made some mistakes along the way, in fact I know they have, EVERY BODY does! I give them credit for going out and trying to get something accomplished that every body is affraid to try. I feel folks are affraid to try because they are worried about failure or mistakes, when indeed they may be making the mistkae right now in their husbandry techniqes. Think outside the box and we may find a proper way to keep different species, not just uros.
I'm not mad or anything. You told me to calm down...I'm calm
I'm just trying to express my ideas and philosophies, in which you are doing the same and I respect you for that. Keep up the research its fun and a great learning experience.
Happy Herping,
-Paul
my dude i have nothing but love for pro exotics-
I want burrows
The soil I could dig is urban decayed polluted filth(my uros will say,"I see dead people!"
The soil I can buy is probably the same "stuff"
i am on a search for THE dirt. Be it clay, soil, decomposed granite from fred flintstone.
BUT I do not want a humid environment, a stinky mudde puddelle.
Thank you I will not waste my time w/ beam clay.
