That's what I was looking for, Shannon! Nice post! Those blanchard's just kill me - way cool. The Laguna de Chapala arcifera are awesome, too. I can see myself getting some of those. I thought the line went dead when Applegate sold them off.

Your polyz are killer, too. I like the high black with a little color peeking through. I hope to hatch some this year, too - keep your fingers crossed for me!

I love those spotted annulatas! Do you know of anyone breeding any? What kind of trait is it?

Thanks Zach,
The spotted annulata is a simple recessive gene.I think applegate has some more info on his site.I know that I have bred spotted to spotted and only got a couple spotted.
I have also bred het to het and had about the same results.

Sorry I'm a little confused with the genetics - if it is simple recessive gene expression and both parents are exhibiting the spotted pattern then shouldn't all of the babies produced express it as well?

Its not cut and dry like albino, hypo, anery etc...since its actually a pattern morph and not a color morph. You can be sure of one thing and thats if you breed a spotted to a normal all the babies will be hets.I have bred several pairs over the years and they always through a few here and there. If its in the blodline then its in the bloodline.

I'm not trying to start any trouble but I discussed Stuarts (and others) with Alan Kardon in June of 2006. His very words were "we never had Stuarti, not sure how that started".

Maybe they are Dallas zoo stock? hard to say but they have always been known as such.
