food storage

Just wondering how everyone stores the veggies and fruit you give the beardies?

I cut it up every day, I've stored some before and it always goes bad within a few days... am I just cutting up to much?
And once again, today while cutting it dawned on me I should just cut down a bunch and store the rest... but how should I effectivly do that?

In New Orleans I could buy frozen seasonings mix... So would I just be able to freeze it?

Greens I store in the fridge uncut/unwashed, typically layered between paper towel in a grocery bag or tubberware container. I chop/mix a batch and keep in a ziplock bag but I never make more than i need for a few days. This I find ensures it doesn't all go bad. As I need more greens etc, I rinse ,chop and zip lock bag it for my dragon's meals.

You can freeze greens or use already frozen greens but there are two main negatives. Not all greens freeze/thaw well (vegetables are fine but leafy greens tend to go limp and go bad really fast). Also, certain minerals are destroyed during the freezing process, these minerals are needed for your dragon. However this loss can be offset with a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. Or using fresh and frozen greens regularly.

What I usually do if I am service greens is I wrap the entire head in paper towels and then store it in a bag in the fridge. If I cut up veggies, I put them in a tuperware container and put a paper towel in there and that tends to keep them good for about a week.
I tried to freeze the cut up veggies once, but they got really gross when I thawed them.

I cut up a bag of veggies, and a bag of greens and i keep them in a ziploc bag in the fridge, i do this every friday, i got o the grocery store and buy all new veggies. Sometimes depending on what you mix together it spoils faster, anything with more juices will spoil faster in a bag. I also highly don't recommend freezing the veggies as said before they loose nutrtional value very much needed for the beardie!
