Is anyone running MS Windows XP?

Simbo May 21, 2003 01:36 PM

I am asking because I am getting critical errors whenever I open this forum. At work I have Windows 98 and it is fine, but at home (Windows XP) I can't see any pics and the error closes my browser window. I have the techs @ Kingsnake.com working on the issue, but I wanted to know if this new forum has the same effect on other XP users. By the way, this is the only forum that has this problem, the others are fine.
Thank you for your help,
Eric

Thank you for your feedback.
I don't think that the problem lies w/ MS Explorer. If I open the forum using AOL's web browser the same error happens. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon or else I am going to have to retire for good from the boa forum!
Thanks,
Eric

I have also been in the IT field for 11 years now with a few years in support and application integration. I would check versions of AOL and versions of your browser. If you can uninstall AOL and try another ISP (prefferably one without it's own crappy software) with internet explorer alone it may help. AOL is notorious for screwing things up, but then again so is microsoft... it really could be any piece of software on your computer causing the problem... I think the Kingsnake techs would have to dig pretty deep to find out what the problem really is... it could be any DLL (dynamic link library) replaced during the install of AOL .. then again it could be the kingsnake code... who knows, the bottom line is it's probably not as simple as the version of operating system you are running.
