Gravid Boa Anarchy.......

Daniel Klopson Apr 07, 2007 01:12 PM

100 days P.o.s..... 105 days P.o.s.... Rich Isle has babies at his place 100 days pos like clockwork. Jeff Ronne's animals like 105 days. Ive been breeding boas for long enough to know that I'll NEVER know when the babies are coming!! I keep VERY good records with my animals and I've noted that some of my females NEVER have POS cycles, others ovulate...shed... and have litters 140 days Pos. And then some other females I have ovulate, never shed, and then two months into the gestation period shed!! Last year I had a litter 90 days Pos! Whats the deal!! I've noted this for several years now at my place. I cant imagine how cool it would be to KNOW when your babies are coming. Anybody else observe Anarchy in the boa room like this? That being said.. my first litter is due April 10th (ya right) she looks like she could blow! I wonder if she'll go 105 days Pos for once! Dan

Mine are always real close to 105 days. I had two litters this week, both were 105 exactly. I was hoping for three litters in three days but I am waiting on a Salmontine litter right now as I write this. I expected them yesterday but it is going to happen tonight so I guess that's 106 or maybe 107 days. She has been pushing them down since about 5pm. One thing I do know is that I would rather have them a little overdone. Babies with excessive yolk scare the crap out of me.

Good Luck
