Just some concerns

Dirge Apr 07, 2007 01:45 PM

My chameleons is about 4 months or 3 months old and hes starting to kinda crawl around on the ground every now and. His back is curved and his tailed is curled and he always looks around his environment so i dont think anything is wrong with him. I was thinking he was maybe dehydrated so i mist his tank every now and then more often. Hes in a glass tank for now but were getting him a mesh cage soon. Should i be worried about him crawling on the ground?

Thank you

You said..."My chameleons is about 4 months or 3 months old and hes starting to kinda crawl around on the ground every now and"...he may just be exploring his territory. As long as his eyes are open all day and he is drinking and eating and behaving normally I would think there is no problem. Just keep an eye on him.

is it ok for him to only shed his head? Because i thought he was going to shed but it was just his head. The rest of his body didnt.

Thank you

He should shed all of his skin...but sometimes one part will shed ahead of the other...not more than a few days though.

Sometimes an incomplete shed can be related to husbandry...humidity or diet....so it might be worth checkingyour husbandry.
