WC Patternless San Diego Gopher Breeding

Yani45 Apr 08, 2007 11:27 AM

I was a little unsure if this guy was going to be big enough to get his genes out there this year, but this was him last night! He's got another Applegate female and a normal to get to after this...

Being w/c makes him that much cooler.

I saw on the 'other' forum that you've been searching for a mate in the same area. I've got my fingers crossed for you as that would an outstanding line to prove out...

Thanks and keep us updated bro.

The search still continues, but at least it looks like I have his genes out there now. I'll keep everyone posted.

Thats killer John.Did you perhaps grab a normal female from the same area just to keep that line pure also?

Thanks Shannon

The post on the "other forum" referred to Byron was in regard to this. The area where I caught him burned up in a wildfire shortly after I found him. I've been working my tail off looking for another with no success. I'm up to over about 20 helleri, a few kings, and even a ringneck. The only gopher I found last week and it was a normal looking adult male. I never thought it would be so hard to find a gopher snake!!

The search continues... In the meantime, I have a nice female annectans from another area to breed him to.

Thats a killer snake. Its got back ground pattern but no blotches, Patternless is great name for it! Good luck, it should be fun project to work with.

I look forward to getting the bloodline out there...

Wow! That snake is a beauty! Man, best of luck in your search for another normal or het for that patternless trait. I saw a similar patternless San Diego DOR on the Road up to Antonovich Park.
