Snake droppings: frequency

elliotsmom Aug 13, 2003 01:58 PM

Hi, I'm new to this forum and new to snake ownership. I read somewhere that snakes eliminate about once/week. My baby corn goes about 5 times/week, sometimes more, sometimes twice in one day. The pet store owner said it was normal. What has been your experience out there? I feed him/her once/week. He/she is about 18 inches long.

Also, this may be a weird subject but I think someone should post what a normal baby snake b.m. should look like. I wouldn't know if mine is sick or not.

Thanks.

Not real sure but if you post this in the corn snake forum i'm sure you will get an answer.

That sound OK. They don't go as often as they get older. Baby corn snake poo is pretty much just some black wet stuff with maybe some white stuff, without much form. As they get older and start eating larger food with hair, this too will change and the poo will have more form (and more hair)

Hi! I have Pythons and a corn snake, and it is different for each. My BP goes once every 1-2 weeks, and it looks just like cat feces. The urates are usually passed seperately by my guy, and that of course is just white and some liquid. My corn, on the other hand, is younger and poops more frequently, but with less definition....
