feeding tricks???

ballfreak Apr 09, 2007 10:33 AM

i am seriously losing my patience i try feeding every week and out of four snakes you would hope one of them would eat? one has not eaten in five months. does anyone know of any good tricks that have helped them start eating? on top of them not eating i hate feeding live but ive tried dead and same thing. one will eat dead by just leaving it in the tub over nite. they are all about 900 grams. thanks for any help!

Give yourself a break and avoid the stress. I had one go over 6 months without eating...now she eats 2 at a time. Just look at it as giving you a break on feeding day...they'll eat eventually.

Don't sweet it as long as nothing is wrong with the snake it will not sarve to death, 8 mounths is far from unheard of. Just offer them on your normal feed day if they don't eat so be it they will be fine as long as nothing else is wrong with them.

Ditto what these guys said. Unless it's threatening the health of the snakes you're just makin' yourself crazy. They typically go off feed in the fall and go back on in the spring. I've got a male that's been without for seven months now. They will start up when the mood hits em.
