Tylan/Tylosin

okreptilerescue Apr 09, 2007 10:47 AM

I have been told by many people that Tylan/Tylosin can be used for treating URI's in Snakes. I have consulted a vet and after much persitance- got the ok from them. They would rather me go to them and spend my money there twice a week. I did not ask about torts. Does any one know if tylan/tylosin can be used in torts? I would think not but I thought I'd ask.

Tylan is just a drug. An antibiotic. You can use it in whichever animal that you choose. Stick it in your kids if you really want to. The real power behind drugs is the expertise directing their usage, which is why they are prescription drugs. Some loopholes exist where people can buy them without veterinary supervision, which is where you probably got yours.

Forget the money, that vet you conned into permission really had no say because you didn't bring in the animal. There suggestions were in the benefit of the animal, not the $50 they'd get from you for a visit.

For more information on antibiotic use, peruse further below in this forum. Lots of people have had their say.
