The Bill hasn't passed the House

saddleman Apr 09, 2007 11:21 AM

We talked to Teresa that works for the Committee on Culture, Recreation and Tourism (512-463-1974) and she said that she still has to file the final wording. It will then go to another committee that will schedule it to be heard on the House floor and put up for a vote. If it passes there it will go on to the Senate. And as for the House vote she couldn't give me any specifics other than it was up to the Speaker to schedule it.

Where can we see the entirety of the "final wording"?

The final wording has not been filed yet. When is is filed it will show up on the link below. The link is to the text of the bill. Right now it just has the "Introduced" up there. She was going to file the final wording and it should show up there this week.

Are we not able to be heard before the house as we were in the last bill? Seems like this flew under the wire without having the chance to voice our opinions. It is absolute b.s. and I don't ever want my ability to legally hunt taken away. Sure, you can still view the animals, but you will be stopped, harrassed, searched, and you will have to fight an expensive battle. Not as many can show up for a court date out in the Bend. I hate feeling helpless, and I find myself reverting to old bad habits, eating nutter butters and drinkin and typin'! I will start making phone calls next. Never say die!!!

It seems to me that if Teresa could maybe just type in the correct wording before she files the final wording. And then the bill may pass so that it becomes illegal to hunt/capture or take any wildlife with firearm/bow and arrow or spear, from any public highway, road or thoroughfare or within 50 feet of any highway, road or thoroughfare. I mean there are lots of ways to word it. Jack Go Teresa!!
