Charlie's eye update

captotterboy Apr 09, 2007 03:39 PM

I talked to a doctor and he said Charlie's eye is most likely either a scratch or dyhydration. I have been increasing the humidity and flushing his eye out with salene. I changed his diet to include more fatty foods to see if i can rebuild the fat reserves behind his eye. I also added a new light. I have two of those screw in UVB bulbs and a brand new UVB HEAT 100 watt spot that the Charlie LOVES. His bad eye opens more and more now, esspecially when irritated. So hes getting better. Crisis avoided..... i hope.

Thanks for the help

"screw-in UB bulb"? What brand is this? Incandescent bulbs don't usually create any useable UVB. I know there are some like the UVHeat that do, but the brand is really important. The so-called "full spectrum" basking bulbs don't do much at all.

Its a screw in flourecent bulb. Its something like 23w but has a 75w output. I have to go get crickets today and will find the company and the UVB output.
