Pregnant Leopard Gecko acting Wierd?HELP

DarkBlades Apr 09, 2007 06:45 PM

I have 2 leos, small male, little female(high yellow). The female has 1 egg in her, maybe 2. This is her first time and she seems to be lazy, shes sitting in broad daylight sitting in between hot and cool side of the tank. Is she ok? Is she just stressed about the whole situation. She looks healthy when I go to pick her up(she gets alearted) but shes just lazy while in the cage. The Humid Hides right there if she needs to lay eggs, do I need to show her this?(take note she has been in the hide before)

excuse me, I mean a full grown female. I will take a picture of what shes doing thats startleing me. Shes laying down, not taking cover any wear like the other leo. Shes just out in the open. She can move, when I took the picute she was curiously startled and moved her head up to see what was going on.

The one in the den is the male, Ninja.

I read in a book that males can get overly aggressive during the mating season and stress the female. Ever sense Ninja has met her(Ninjete), he has never attacked her although Ninja has had bad encounters with past Male geckos being the agressor.(My bad experience didnt understand how leos are to other leos).

Bottom point is that Ninja is doing anything I dont think...(I watch them) Ninjete is just acting wierd, is it because this egg is in her? Shes pretty big im sure she can release the egg. in 1 or 2 weeks if no eggs show I think im going to take her to the vet. Can anyone help?

Do you have the male and female together?? If so i would take the male out right now! It is most likely just stressing out your female and this is why she maybe acting weird.

Other then that what are your temps? Heating lighting sources? What is your lay box made of?

How much does your female and male weigh?

I wouldnt worry too much one of my females is the same and she laid her eggs near where she poops, even though we provided a nesting box, if it is a first time pregnancy, dont worry, hope all goes okay

If they lay them outside of the box that usually means that the laty box was NOT suitable enough for them and you need to make the proper arrangements!

So it is something to worry about as it can cause many issues on being egg bound!!
