Males breeding males?

darkpythons666 Apr 09, 2007 06:59 PM

Hey guys, just curious if anyone has had males breed other males? The only reason I ask, is that a buddy´s and mine males (one proven, one not) have both bred different bloods we belived to be male. Now did we and the well known individuals who sold us our bloods mis-sex our blood ´´males´´ or do males breed what they can?

Thanks,
Ross

Yes, I have seen male Brongersmai attempt to copulate with one another.

It could also be the other way around ... This year I had a "male" in with two separate females and I could not explain the lack of breeding activity until the supposed "male" dropped a clutch of eggs. The mis-sexed animal was WC and purchased from a reputable source ... Female bloods have large glands that they will sometimes overt, and these glands can resemble hemipenes; that's what tripped me up, and probably the seller as well.

If any of your "males" become gravid, you'll know why ...
