Sense of smell?

in2deep Apr 09, 2007 07:31 PM

Anyone know how well a Uro's sense of smell is developed?
Just curious, cause mine likes fragrant treats celery and herbs. Does he like the smell, or does he get excited cause it's something different than the usual?
Thanks in advance.

Also, he seems to have no depth perception. He'd walk right off a cliff if he could

Hmm not sure of the depth perception deal. But the herbs and such, i blieve that they are not used to eating this in captivity as some people will not like to spend and extend their diets once they have them on a set one. I personally feed whatever is healty to them in many different varieties. Could just be like a favorite food thing as well.

I personally don't know much about a uromastyx's sence of smell, but from my experienece with herps that eat a variety of greens, etc. I kntoiced that my uros, beardeds, and even tortoises were attracted to certain fruits, veggies, and greens/plants by their color. I think color has alot to do with personal choice of food. My uros are particularly fond of hibiscus .
