Does this mean no hand bags, boots, or belts made from crocodile or alligator? No alligator meat in resteraunts?

That is how I read it. It is private businesss, commercialization of many animals, FL crocs included, that saved them from extinction. Removing commercial value form the animals is not a good idea IMHO.
If it is OK to eat and use cow/pork meat/hide, why not reptiles or Wallabies which are NOT endangered in Australia?

Correct me if I am wrong or not reading the CA bill 880
http://www.rexano.org/StatePages/CaliforniaFrame.htm
correctly, but this would hurt FL croc farm economy, since the reptiles 'parts' (shoes, belts, bags) would be illegal to bring to the state with intent to sell. So all the expensive leather merchandise used for fancy leather upholstery, fashion, etc would be banned, and CA is where the rich consumers are.
This than potentially has far more reaching consequences than many realize for FL croc farmers, who r the ones that saved them from extinction, if it has commercial value it will live.

I wouldn't buy anything reptile other than a live animal anyways. Gimme a living breathing critter not their dead body!

First of all, we private animal owners need to stick together, regardless if we keep the animals as pets or utility. We need to fight for each other rights.

Secondly, you say you are broke. Think of this scenario, some people use taxidermy to keep their deceased animals; can be just a well processed skin or stuffed specimen, To you it might be gross, to some it is OK, again, this is America, freedom of choice... don't judge others to harsh.

Well prepared taxidermy specimens are very valuable, now, lets say you need money and want to sell some of these well preserved wild animal specimens to support your family and pets in tough times.
Well, under this CA law, you can't, CA makes your investment and your property worthless, even though these animals were not killed for parts, they died natural deaths and you wanted to preserve them, originally for personal use but in financially tough times when you wanted to sell you couldn't. Don't you think this is wrong for government to make your property worthless like this without compensation? Actually, it might be UN Constitutional for government to take private property like this without proper cause or compensation. We need more people challenging these laws in courts, but too many are too busy fighting each other than fighting together.
