Getting Closer...............

its getting closer to garden season (atleast it is here in New England) what are you all planting this year for your tortoises? i wanna get some new ideas, so far i have mesculin mix mustards carrots, pumpkins, melons and a grass/weed blend, that i will be sprouting in the next week or two, and do you all have going on this year?

You left off one of the best tortoise plants - any member of the chicory familiy,endive,raddichio,escarole etc.

Don't forget dandelions - there are even "domesticated" varieties available.

Plantago major and asiatica & other varieties are also good.

If you don't mind growing really weedy plants (I collect mine), any common Sonchus (sowthistle) member is good.

Of course most Hibiscus plants are good - most torts will eat both the leaf & flowers.

Hey, thanks for the reply. i went out this morning and got some endive seeds. and i ordered a tortoise grass/weed blend that has alot of good varieties of weeds in it, should be fun to see what sprouts.
