With the exception of Scott... we all know it's the BRB who pick the right owners and thus we can all exist harmoneously.

Just kidding Scott!

Have you seen the light yet?

Am I the only one who thinks that ball pythons look like they got hit in the head with a hammer and the swelling never went down, they are also fat snakes which I don't like but rattlesnakes and Gaboon Vipers are OFF THE CHAIN (only young people can say that phrase Dave), and also it looks like they got their tail cut off and it regenerated a fat and stubby one.

At this point in time, I just checked on the popular forums list and we are 45 posts away from them damn Mexican Kingsnakes but I'm trying my best to catch them bastards ya'll Let me and Frank exchange some posts or better yet throw old Dave in the mix and we might have a chance lol guys. This forum is the best like I've been saying all along and I hope it stays friendly or I'll moderate your a--

Bob, I keep just about everything, not just Brazilians, I am not a specialist species person by any means, although I do have 14 reticulated pythons, which I have been keeping since the early 80's, the oldest I have now is 16 years old, so settle down, I started keeping retic's before they where mainstream, I was considered crazy back then lol, and half my retic's are progeny from my first retic I ever had from the 80's, here's one I produced in 2001 Malaysian silver head...I also have several African rocks, balls, bloods, carpets ( JCP, JCP / Diamond, & Coastal), burms, and Macklots. I also keep Brazilians, anacondas, amazon trees, BCI, Dumeril, and one BCC. I also have Northern Pine snakes, Black pine snakes, Cape gopher snake, eastern chain king,Texas rat snakes (Lucy and lavender) and one lone Eastern hognose, then also 2 northern snapping turtles, one spiny soft shell, African bull frog, African clawed frog, and an albino argentine horned frog and emperor scorpions, Yes this is my current collection, if I listed every specie I have kept it would take awhile, I don't buy sell and trade like I used to back in the day. I want an elephant trunk snake, I love them even though they are kinda UGLY lol

BTW I do not own a camera, so this pic was take by my best friend John Rodriguez, hence R & R Herpetological.

I bred Northern Pines In 2002, gave 1.2 to a very good friend of mine named Jim Alexander, he grew them up and bred them, and here's a pic of the babies, 3rd generation, I then procured several more Northern's unrelated and have 3 different bloodlines in my collection. I love Northern Pines!!!! Original breeder was Al Swanson of Staten Island Serpents, then me out crossed, then Jim bred siblings, now I will out crossed again to Home Grown Herps and a unknown line from out west, I am on the east coast. I live in New Jersey and have permits for all my animals, regardless of what people say NJ rules when it comes to herp laws, Anacondas are now considered potential dangerous but since I had them permitted already they are grandfathered, most states do not do this, so NJ rules in my opinion and they used to be seen as the most restrictive. So I am working on producing 4th generation Northern Pines!!!!

Frank,
..Congrats on the Fire Skinks. I have never owned one but they look like they are pretty interesting. I have kept Five Lined and Broad Heads and they were fun. Like you I have gone through phases keeping different animals at different times. I have been all over the place with different colubrids and boids. I have limited experience keeping amphibs and turtles and lizards. My main emphasis has been on snakes and breeding them. Your Retics look fantastic. The BIG snakes are great for people who know enough to provide proper responsible care for them. I kept and bred Burms for awhile but got tired of the heavy work keeping their cages clean and making them get some exercise.

Thanks Jeff, when I was in my early 20's I went thru a "I can breed that species phase" although I love all Herps there was a lot of ego in me back then, my love for Boids is pretty hardcore, but I for see a future where I will have to scale down to smaller species like carpets, womas, blackheads, etc... I will enjoy the big boys as long as I safely can. I bred Broad-headed skinks in the 90's all the babies looked like 5 lined skinks, even though the females look kinda like that without the little blue tails, even the Riopa babies had bright blue tails and vivid colors like 10 fold the adults. Pain in the behind to feed, reminded me of arrow frogs...

now I got your e-mail address, I'll probably send you more spam, more junk mail and of course a virus as Dave sent me one and I was feeling under the weather for a good week so watch out for that guy. Great page, my friend Pham use to keep Scorpions and they are very intriguing and I also enjoy tarantulas btw.

up my alley Frank and I absolutely love them, their skin is so velvety smooth when kept in the right conditions and the irridescence is to die for, these are the other beauties that this forum don't know about but of course they are not for everyone. That is why people buy great danes and others buy poodles or the taco bell dog (can't spell it and I'm to lazy to google it) Go out and get a camera this summer Frank or is this not in the plans? Or are you saving for some Lipstick huh?
Bob

FRoberts Apr 11, 2007 01:33 PM

meaning to buy a camera, but I am a crappy photographer and have to be great at everything kinda person. So if I get one I know I will become compulsive till I take GREAT pic's, so I have been putting it off due to this compulsiveness of mine lol

You'd love the canon, I'm no photographer and look at my pics. Heck, I still shoot in JPEG format with the factory presets and they look great.

Bottom line, drop the coin on a high end DSLR and you can instantly take great pics!!

Well I do not even own a throw away camera, I have to get one, I miss a lot of opportunities and have a bunch of old pic's or ones the seller was using to get me to buy the snake, all of which in my case exactly resembled the animals I purchased, lucky me!! But all of them have grown so much and look much better, so I will save for a really good one to circumvent my pathetic photography skills, hence, I also, almost always use a spell checker for my posts, I stink at that spelling stuff too lol.

retics. Frank compared to your brb's, which one don't you trust more the retics or the brazilians assuming they have been fed of course? I know you might say neither but I am much more willing to put a retic around my neck by ever so beautiful mug than a fast moving slender easily irritated brazilian. I like those JCP's- I don't know about all the different kinds but after having the book Designer Morphs I would have to say I really like those Tiger Jaguars and Red Hypo Jaguars.

At first glance at the labtop this morning I noticed a lot of blue posts and got a quick feeling in my stomach that I shouldn't have posted what I said about those balls but then realized that it was all Frank lol And to think we needed Dave's help for more posts but this is not the case as long as Frank and Bob are on this forum BABY!!!
Bob

p.s. thanks for the pic and I promise I'll get one soon of some of my friend Paul's (great year for the retic huh? P.P. has come out with some absolute jaw dropping ones this year and they rival the most beautiful brb's in my eyes)

FRoberts Apr 11, 2007 01:28 PM

Like you said neither animal can be trusted, my Brazilians are also tame but must be watched, the only agro snakes I have are one of my African rocks and all my yellow anacondas, all manageable, but the agro snakes put my on double extra guard instead of regular guard, I do not trust any of them to be honest, one cannot let your guard down when working with snakes over a few feet. I have a 5 foot male Dumeril that I swear is the strongest snake I have ever seen, I will not put him around my neck because one time he constricted my arm and I couldn't get him off in the amount of time it would have taken to render me unconscious. Unreal little monster, tame, but got spooked or something and gave me THE grip lol
