My sweetie took these pics today of our Nessie trying to climb one of our trees. Just click on the link to view the album. Enjoy - it was a nice day for her to get out and get some sun and exercise.

are ornate tree monitors the same thing as black and white tegus? they look very similar
Hello,
Absolutely not... The ornate forest monitor is a very large monitor that is native to the equatorial forests and jungles of West Africa (The Congo, etc.). One of the most beautiful monitors in my opinion... All of the power and mass of the albigularis group with the color and flash of the niloticus... best to you- Mike
There is no such animal. Thats an ornate monitor, or ornate forest monitor, once called the ornate nile monitor.
They look nothing like any tegu, not even close to one.
They would however eat or kill just about any tegu you can put in front of them.
They get about this size but longer in the tail.

How old is that girl? I can't wait for mine to get big if it ever does. She's a monster.
Now shes over 5 years old. Shes 6ft 6 inches now.
Most BTs out there are already close to that age at 3ft to 4ft long, why 99.99999% are wild caught. My little girl is a 2nd generation cross of 2 whitethroat subspecies.
Spectacular looking Ornatus - love the blue coloration!
Thanks for sharing.

That is a very good looking monitor. I can only imagine what your neighbors think when they see it in your yard.

If i could choose only one lizard in the world it would be an ornatus.
I love the blue on it's side.
