i mentioned in a previous post that my main interest is Irian Jaya/West Papuan Carpet pythons. I am really proud of the group i have collected over the last year, and alot of people i respect have told me i have some of the best around.

my group consists of animals that trace back to VPI lineages, some are unknown lineage, and a couple are WC examples that rivel ANY captive bred offspring produced thus far.

thanks and enjoy the pics!

here are 2.3...

Those are stunning looking snakes. I'm a little surprised by the last pic; I did'nt think these were particularly aggressive snakes.
Thanks for sharing.

Jon,
...Did you raise any of those from babies? I had WC ones for my breeding stock and I was later surprised at how reddish the babies were right out of the egg. They lost much of the red over the first couple of sheds.

i have raised all but a couple from babies.

most irian jayas start out red and grey with shades of brown. their colour change to adult colors can be as quick as weeks or months.

all jayas i see start out that reddish brick and grey color,

thanks!

jonathan
