Hey I just got back from my dads house where he was. He doesnt have much experience with snakes so when I saw him I was concerened. He looks skinny, and had the shed still on him and it wont come off. when I tried to get the old skin off by soaking, it started to but accual scales started comming off. You can accually see the muscle. I know this is not normal and I am scheduling a vet visit for him. Does anyone know why this is happening? Im not abusive to my reptiles, and all my other snakes are in great condition. It is just this one Im having trouble with... PLEASE help.

than screw making an appointment, get him to the nearest emergency vet now. A wound like that should not occur from a little stuck shed. If there is no E. V. then at least put some antibiotic ointment on the wound to keep out infection until you can get him to the vet. Is this the same snake that you said hadn't eaten since Jan 5th? If it is you should have the vet look for internal parasites and anything else that might cause unusual weight loss. I've had snakes go six months with one meal in the middle and not loose any visible weight so it isn't good for him to be skinny after less that four. Hope he is ok, keep us posted.
