Genetics question

is the red trait simple recessive or is it line bred?

1.1 Ghost corns, 1.1 Butter het. stripe corns, 0.1 normal corn
1.1 Tremper Albino Leopard Geckos
1.0 Super dalmation crested, 1.1 Pinstripe crested, 2.1.1 Misc crested
1.0 Ghost Bull, 0.1 Snow bull

It is a line bred trait. You can breed a red to a "normal" and the majority (75%) of the babies will be intermediate, a small percentage (15%) should have some nice red, and a small percentage (15%) might have no red at all. I have been breeding reds to whiteside for 3 or 4 years now with several clutches a year. These are the averages that I have seen. When holding back the best out of the first generation breedings, you can then begin to re-refine the red by breeding these back. Hope this helps. Take care!

My mistake. The 75% should have read 70%. I believe the general idea was conveyed. Thats what happens I guess when you post in a hurry!

Like Jeremy said, I believe it is line bred as well. There is no such thing has " het " for red.
