Variable Kingsnake Eggs Questions

aalomon Apr 11, 2007 03:17 PM

This is my first clutch from these guys. I bought 1.2 all proven and one of the females just laid. I read that the average clutch is 6-7, this girl laid 13!! How can I tell if they are fertile? They are different from corn eggs. Thanks.

to check fertility is to candle them. I use a small mag light and put it right up against the egg and turn out the lights. If you see red blood filled veins that's a great sign the eggs are fertile. It still doesn't guarantee they will hatch but it's a good sign.
