Well my first female laid three eggs so far. I'm not sure she is done since she is staying in her nesting box. Thanks for the tips Eve,she did lay them in her box Poor thing looks exhausted. I actually need to go to the store but I'm afraid to leave in case she has more. Anyone know how many eggs the average collareds lay? I just know she was waiting for me to leave the house so she could have them while I was gone. I would have kicked myself if I had missed the eggs being laid after all of this time watching her like a hawk.

If she is small, or her first clutch, she could only lay 3-5. Very cool you got to see them being laid. I've only witnessed that two or three times.

I have two female bicinctores, they are both really small compares to my females eastern, but one laid her first eggs 20 days ago, there were only 3 in total. She never really looked particularly huge either, though when I put them in the incubator they were clearly bigger than their mom's head, so I'm not surprised she drew the line at 3. She also looked rather skinny once she was done

I just checked out my records and the smallest number of eggs I ever had was 5 and the largest 11.

Average over the last 4 years or so is just under 8.

Congratulations ! Wait till ya see them hatch, the coolest thing ever, just GLUED to the egg, watching, hehehehhee. Never get tierd of seeing them hatch, just a wonderous sight.

I would have to agree with Johneee, 3 - 5 seem to be pretty common. I have had 9 - 11 eggs layed and the most that hatched was 9.
I also have an aquaflame female who just layed 2 pretty eggs. The least I have ever had

Hi, well it looks like five is the final total. She laid 4 eggs and then came out of her nesting box for a break to drink some water. I watched her about an hour and when it looked like she was finished I ran to the store. I was gone about 30 minutes and when I got home I found that the naughty girl had laid her 5th egg in the water bowl. I was furious at myself for leaving. It was the one egg that I could actually see the pink oval inside so I hope it will be okay.
