Is it ok for the Egg Laying box to be on the cool side of the tank? Can the Humid hide also be on the cool end of the tank?

thanks in advance!

NO, then it would not be a humid hide! It should be right over the UTH. The laybox could be either way, but some will not use if on the cool side. Some will not use if on the hot side. So you will have to see what your leo prefers.

With my knob-tail geckos, the cool side is the moist side. They like it wet, and by having the moist side over where temps are in the mid-70s, it doesn't dry out as quickly. I think you can have high water vapor in an area of the cage atmosphere without it having to be on the hot side of the vivarium. With my leos, I use plastic shoeboxes as humid hides (like Tremper does), and I have half the box over the UTF and half not, giving the geckos the opporunity to self-regulate. This box doubles as the laying area. Hope this helps.
