A Friend had a litter of boas born premature. Was wondering what would cause that? is it jsut one of those things that happens sometimes? She was due at the end of this month, beginning of next.... thanks all....

It can be caused by there being more infertile eggs than viable offspring, and the body seems to get the message to get rid of the load. Other than that, I do not think anyone knows.

Ok, thanks, That makes sense I guess... there were 6 slugs in all, and this was her first litter. I'm not sure if they were born alive or not cause like i said, it is a friend of mine that has the mother. he said some were in the sack, and some werent. I just assumed that they were stillborn when he said they all were dead. I am thinking now that some were born dead, and the few that may have made it out alive, were crushed by mom....
