I just got a new leopard gecko yesterday... he/she is about 5 inches long. How old do u think it is? At this age would I be able to tell the sex?

It’s very hard to tell age by the geckos size. They grow according to many factors, food intake being one of the most important. It’s pretty safe to say your leo is under a year old, and it still has a good deal of growing to do. At 5” you should be able to determine sex. Look for two bulges at the base of the tail in males; also they will have a ‘V’ shaped line of pores right between their back legs. Females are generally smaller, do not have bulges, and have less noticeable pores. Hope this helps, and let us know if you have more questions!
