softening of shell in baby sulcata

vet2010 Apr 12, 2007 11:49 AM

well my baby sulcata has been doing fine until lately. it seems that the sides of his shell are a lil soft and so is his i guess would be stomach shell(cant think of proper term right now in a hurry) basically his underside is also soft. he is on calcium carbonate powder, centrum, timothy hay, has adequate uvb and heat light and his hide stays at a pretty constant 75-90% humidity, whats going wrong?

Do you soak the guy regularly? Have it checked for parasites. I found the no. 1 killer in tortoises under a year is renal failure due to either dehydration or parasite load.
