3rd litter of 07

styrsnake Apr 12, 2007 12:11 PM

Well, this has been my most anticipated litter of the year and possibly my final. I have one other female that ovulated and is due in June, but I believe that she is going to slug out on me based on her actions so far. This litter was born at about 2:00am and I must say I have pretty much been up all night because of it. They were born 110 days POS.

This is a picture of dad, he was the only Jungle that Gray, at Allboas, sold out of his Bianca/Tito litter in 05. I believe he has sold a couple others since then, but I am not sure. Thanks again Gray for hooking me up with this awesome male.

This is a picture of mom. She was produced by Sharon Moore of the Boastore, and is a Boawoman Hypo, AKA Moore Caramel. I was fortunate enough to acquire her in 2001 when Sharon produced her litter of Caramels. Thanks Sharon for this female.

And last but not least are a couple of pictures of their babies.

Almost all of the jungles have nice tails like dad. I will post some other information later as I must stop staring at these guys and get some sleep. WOO HOO, can you say Paradigm Jungles in the near future.

What actions can lead u to believe that a gravid female boa might slug out???

AWESOME LITTER ... CONGRADS !!

styrsnake Apr 12, 2007 02:11 PM

I believe this due to her behavior. I witnessed her ovulate and go through her post ovulation shed a couple of months ago. She has steadily refused food since her ovulation. She has not had any significant increase in girth and is not thermoregulating very well. For the most part, due to those actions I feel she is not going to have a viable litter. But you never know for sure, boas do have a tendency to surprise you a lot of times.

RePtImAlS Apr 12, 2007 03:52 PM

thanks for the reply , usually it seems to me that my females that end up slugging out become very girthy (tight skinned) and round instead of girthy and "chubby" looking as in the girth flattens out ... i thought it might be because when a female has unfertilized eggs they retian a wider more oval size which causes the boa to "blow up" bc they have wide girth as opposed to when they are developing babies the fertilized eggs start to decrease in mass and develop into babies which lenghthen out along the females body and dont cause such a swelling that looks like a boa will explode rather then just developing a more flattened girth which is the babies lengthing out...

THOUGHTS ON THIS???? This is just my thoughts.. what do u think???

chris nicholas Apr 12, 2007 12:43 PM

and yes, paradigm jungles will be excellent.

Steve Congratulations! That's a very nice litter and I imagine the timing is especially good for you. I have one of the brothers from the 05 Bianca litter but I received him a little to late for this years breeding season. Good luck with you litter. Other than your hold backs I'm sure they won't last long.

Rick,
That is an awesome male also. I think that whole litter is phenomenal. I am sure he will produce some awesome offspring as well; I am thoroughly impressed with mine so far. What are your plans for breeding him?
Steve

Rick2 Apr 12, 2007 07:53 PM

Steve, thanks. I agree the litter was awesome, and Bianca is a beautiful female. My first choice would probably be a this probable super salmon female, or possibly a pastel het anery female that was produce by John Lokkens in 04 but to be honest with you I have a whole year to thinks about it. I also have a couple of red group female that are potential girl friend. If you ask me the same question next year about this time then it would be easy, a salmon Jungle that should be ready by 08. Good luck.

Rick.

Awesome Litter Steve
Those are some wicked babys. You can see where they get thier good loks from. I really really like that one jungle baby that has the whole body with a connected pattern..What a combo you have made there. Yea I would be on cloud #9 Forsure. I would really like to see what your cooking in a couple more years. And you more then likely have some Sharp Albinos
