Everyone needs to place a call to their favorite Trans-Pecos hotel operator/owners. When this story first broke, I made the assumption that someone else had or would be doing this.
Earlier today, I decided to call and discuss this bill with Carolyn and Barbara, the co-owners of Chisos Mountain Company Motel (Easter Egg Valley) in Study Butte. To my surprise, my call was the first they had heard of this. Carolyn confirmed that a very large percentage of their off-season customers are herpers. I referred her to this site for more info.
I would STRONGLY encourage all herpers to contact the manager or owner of EVERY Texas hotel they have ever stayed at while herping. They need to be advised so they can join with us in this fight.
