We do have support from P. Gallego

They oppose HB 2414 for a number of reasons.

What we need to do is talk to Matt at the office of Carl Isett 512-463-0676. They support the changes because TP&W asked them to cover everything to prevent the commercial take of reptiles in East Texas by people from Oklahoma and Arkansas. They said that the populations are declining and instead of targeting counties or species they just want to stamp the whole thing out. This agenda is backed by TP&W at some level for another reason, and you will love this one. It will give them more discretion to search your vehicle or person if they find you out walking along the roadways or cruising slowly. They want a bigger excuse to invade your privacy by giving a blanket of probable cause that is nothing short of you are on a public roadway…. Do you have any animals in that car well just let me take a look, get out and stand over there?

We need to make sure that everybody, and I mean everybody calls the office of Carl Isett to oppose this bill, or revise it to state something like this:

(b) This section does not apply to the trapping or capture of wildlife as provided by Chapter 49.

But even that would not help with ranchers that oppose this bill to dispose of what they consider problem animals in their area. Let’s just say no… Make sure this thing does not pass in any form. That way we have the support from the ranching industry as well.

I want everybody here to put the phone number for Carl Isett’s office in their cell phone speed dial. Call it every day to oppose the bill, I want to have a problem getting in myself because the line is busy.

I think this is where a better “working” relationship with TPW may have provoked better problem-specific solutions, rather than this bill, though I’m amazed these reps wouldn’t have demand it since Texas is a big ass state and primarily it’s an east Texas problem. You guys should really be scared [bleep]less of your legislature

I am looking for any corraspondance (email, paper etc.) between Texas Parks and Wildlife and few aspects of our Texas legislature.
This would include:
The office Carl Isett
The Committee of Culture, Recreation and Tourism (and its members and chairs – Harvey Hilderbran, Edmund Kuemple, Dawnna Dukes, Mark Homer, Donna Howard, Mike ODay and Larry Phillips)
Or any corraspondace from Texas Parks and Wildlife concerning HB 2414 titled “Relating to hunting from public roads or rights-of-way”
This would be for anything dating from the first of 2007 to current.

Anyway, how do I get this and how much will it cost to have copied and sent to me?

Thanks

Lance
