vomit, poo, or other possibility

cmtst2 Apr 12, 2007 03:02 PM

My daughter has approximately 8 month old red ear. The poor thing was gravely ill this past month with a respiratory infection. After hundreds of dollars in new lighting, and emergency vet bills, plus her unwavering devotion to giving him daily antibiotic injections, he is getting better.

The new problem is there is some type of substance in the tank we can't identify and therefore do not know if it is a problem. There are small white and yellow lumps. They are evidently heavy as they sink to the bottom of the tank, but shaped like an irregular column. It's not gravel, and it doesn't disintegrate like poo and is way too light color.

Any idea what this is? There is a new one every or every other day.

Thanks for the help.

Just the one so I know it's coming from him. It still hasn't stopped and they look like little calcifications. The last one is rather large and he's still only about 1 1/2 inches so he must be vomiting it up, but I've never seen it happen.

Was yours ever on antibiotics? I thought maybe that had something to do with it since I never saw them before his treatment.
