New Ball, Unusual coloring

EmberBall Aug 13, 2003 07:32 PM

A friend of mine emailed me a pic of this ball and asked me if it was something unusual. With pics, it is hard to tell, so I went to see it in person. It definately look unusual enough for me to take it home with me to breed out. It is actually very nice looking in person, reminding me of the balls that go from brown to axanthic looking, changing colors after sheds. The pic is not that great, but the animal is very light brown, looking grey at times, with off white and yellow dorsal marking. Anyways, it looked different enough for me to devote a normal female to, and breed next year. The animal came to me looking a bit skinny, but is pounding 2 rats per feeding, and should be up in weight in no time! Also, was in shed when I got him, and he shed all in one piece.

Looks like a good snake-my male(6-9 years old, about 4'6" is one of the "brown to axanthic looking" ones you mentioned.Right out of shed he's almost silver-gray. Hard to catch in a photo but here's my best try with my 3 year old female-the male's the one with his head on the bottom. The color change may or may not be genetic, but I'm not planning on breeding, and am not in it for the money, so I guess I won't find out anytime soon, I'll stick to calling mine normals
