Media in Texas?

gratefuldead Apr 12, 2007 09:07 PM

Has anyone contacted the news stations aroung the major cities?

How is it that in the US, this day and age...Our liberties can be taken away by government agencies with nothing more than "a good idea"...

It seems to me that in a conservative state like Texas, the public would easily jump on board our boat given the fact that our freedoms are being taken away to "save" wildlife...

I actually did contact someone here in Houston and they responded.

I want to let you know your email and every message we receive is read and carefully considered by six members of our investigative team.

Has the bill passed out of any committees? I wonder if it's been scheduled to come up for a vote? I'm sure the good folks out at the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup will have plenty to say about this. When I was a reporter in Abilene, I covered that event every year.

If we're able to begin an investigation or pursue a story on this matter, someone will be calling or emailing you. Sometimes we can't immediately jump on a story or provide help, but that doesn't mean it's not something we're interested in pursuing.

We're constantly looking to inform the public and tell stories from our viewers. So, I'm glad you took the time to write us.

Thanks again,

Brian Sasser

Like I was going to say before I rudely interrupted myself...if a few more folks call, maybe they'll get a little more interested. Especially with the impetus for the bill coming to light. I did direct Sasser to this forum.

It is a web page, but a whole bunch of short to the point emails will let them know that more than just one or two nut jobs in tin foil hats are worried.

Yes, it is a web page, but to their credit, they responded the next day. It was early in the game, so all the stuff about TPWD's involvement wasn't known for sure, so it wasn't mentioned. New, and more, emails from others outlining the new developments can only be helpful.
