Hey all,
I hope everyone's boa breeding season is going well. I won't be expecting my first litters of the year until the end of May. So to pass the time, I figure I'd post a pic of one of my hopeful gals for next year.
In 2003, I was browsing the website of a local reptile shop out here in So Cal, and saw this beautifully colored normal female boa with a bit of a striped tail. So as soon as I could, I gathered my last remaining group of Ball Pythons (2.2 of various ages and weights to be exact) and headed down to the shop to try and broker a trade deal for that female boa. Luckily for me, the shop owner's a very cool guy to deal with, and he was more than happy to accept the trade as long as I paid an additional $20 bucks with the 2.2 BPs. I was psyched to say the least and more than willing to shed a mere $20 to get that female into my hands.
Well, 4 years later, here she is. Growing nicely, I might add, retaining her great tail color and acquiring surprisingly pink/red highlights up and down her sides as she shed and grew (I really do hope the pics show those highlights).
Anyway, she'll be in line for one of my hypo boys next year. Hope you guys like, cuz I know that this is one of my favorite snake trades to date, especially since the BPs really weren't "lighting my fire" the way my boas do. Don't mean to offend any of you that also work with BPs
So many great boa babies being born this. Keep them coming you all!!!
All the best to you guys and gals...Jay
